SOURCING FOR THE CURIOUS & CREATIVE

There is never one best Boolean String or one best site to source. We get the best results if we ‘combine’ tools and sites. Join us for a workshop where we’ll be practicing elements of navigating searches using the best sourcing sites and tools in combination. The fun, fast-paced presentation will start with a brief intro on common-sense ways to select sites and choose and combine relevant tools, depending on target industries and locations. In particular, we’ll learn ways to identify if an association or conference site has posted lists with the right audience, and how to get hold of the lists. We’ll go over a few sourcing tips – such as uncovering hidden names on LinkedIn and verifying email guesses using Facebook. We’ll then proceed to hands-on brainstorming on how to best search for the targets that the audience (You!) will submit.

The landscape of social media networks has evolved significantly in the past few years and there is a new and growing segment of online sites that professionals are migrating toward. They are attractive to individuals who want to network with people that have similar professional experience and who are perhaps disenchanted with the big general networking site. This session will explore various vertical networks and best practices for sourcing candidates from these sites. A look at the road less traveled to find talent. A whole world of resources exist for those who are willing to take a unconventional approach. This session will explore in particular vertical networks for finding talent.
